2020 is the year of the unexpected. But in the most challenging of times, you can find ways of doing what is right. The team at Unforgettable Coatings chose to prove our worth by lending a hand to the Nevada community in a time of need. The COVID-19 pandemic effects hit hard in many places, including the neighborhoods our team works and lives in. We knew that right now was an opportunity to truly live our core values of Trust, Gratitude, and Compassion.
In part 2 of 4, UCI looks outside of the company to our community, using compassion as our leading focus. While this time is difficult for many, we are fortunate to have been deemed an essential business, but many others were not.
Cory Summerhays, owner of UCI, saw thousands lining the streets for food bank services on a drive through town. It was then that he knew we had to find some way to contribute. Our team gathered together to decide what to do next. Although we didn’t know our future as a company, our team decided that we could help. During that meeting, we decided to hand out grocery gift cards as a way to show our team we care.
At 6 a.m., our team got together to begin the day and distributed gift cards and filled up gas tanks as people drove through the food bank line. Throughout the experience, our main focus was making sure everyone felt our gratitude and compassion. We are thankful to have opportunities like these to show our community how much we appreciate them. It was a first-hand experience that forever changed our teams’ lives.
